Feadship is an elite group of yacht builders based in the Netherlands. It has three manufacturing facilities in Aalsmeer, Makkum and Kaag, plus a design and engineering center in Haarlem. The name Feadship stands for First Export Association of Dutch SHIPbuilders, coined in 1949 when the major yacht builders in Holland decided to unite.

Unlike other yacht builders, Feadship is in the business of making pure custom superyachts, not just customized ones. To do this, the group begins each project from scratch and works with each client to create an exclusive and truly unique luxury yacht that matches his desired style.

Feadship was formed by three companies in 1949, led by the De Vries, Van Lent, and De Voogt families. After finding the European market challenging because of the destruction caused by World War II, Feadship went on to penetrate the more lucrative American market in the 1950s, quickly selling three boats when the group debuted at the 1951 New York Boat Show.

By the 1960s, the group has become an established brand, enjoying steady growth. This growth only accelerated in the 1970s, thanks in part to satisfied owners placing repeat orders. In the 1980s, Feadship began collaborating with famous interior and exterior designers, such as Susan Puleo and Jon Bannenberg, respectively.

Feadship’s success has continued until today, with the group now known for its never-ending quest for innovation through evolutionary research & development and the upgrading of its facilities.

Aside from building luxury yachts, Feadship also offers charter services, after sales maintenance services for its fleet, as well as refit and rebuild services.

As of the summer of 2014, the fleet of Feadship worldwide includes 428 yachts.
